About Us

The Rothwell Family

Our family operation of breeding horses began in 1981. We returned to Manitoba from Alberta to farm and started with 2200 cultivated acres. Since Ron had such a love for horses from childhood it was only a matter of months before we had a few horses for pleasure riding and sleigh rides. As our family grew, Tasha, Megan and Sabrina, so did the horse selection. There was always one for each size of rider - from Mini to Welsh to Quarter Horse.

Megan and Sabrina started in Junior Barrels in the Heartland Rodeo Association and from there on, both were involved in the Manitoba High School Rodeo Association for many years with much success. We are particularly proud of Megan winning the AQHA Horse of the Year and Sabrina being the Manitoba High School Rodeo Queen and then placing in the top 20 at Nationals.

Our family now includes Tasha, husband Kris Roberts and grandchildren Annika, Amery, Lenaya and Karlyn; Megan and husband Jonathan Webb and grandchildren Cashton and Westyn; Sabrina and husband Ryan Thomson and grandson Brody.

Grandchildren are a great part of our lives now. Our grandkids all have their own horse to ride and trail ride with grandpa!
